A. Paul Johnson is a composer, conductor, writer and director and has appeared as guest artist for regional theaters and music organizations throughout the United States. His art has graced the stages of Indiana Repertory Theater, Syracuse Stage, Arkansas Repertory Theater and Manhatton Plaza. In his home state of Florida, Mr. Johnson has worked for The Hippodrome State Theater, American Stage, Asolo Theater Festival, Caldwell Theater and Florida Studio Theater. In 2004, he was semi-finalist in The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's Fresh Ink - Florida Composer's competition.

Other ensembles that have performed his works include Argentina's Ensamble Rosario, Gainsville Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Philharmonic, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw National Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra and Sofia Philharmonic. A. Paul's creative work has been recognized by fellowships from the National Endowment for The Arts,the National Institute For Music Theater at The Kennedy Center and The Florida Arts Council, and his operas have been commisioned by The Virginia Opera, Florida Opera and Sarasota Opera.
